Invents 2004

Sunday August 31, 2003
Press Release: "Invents 2004" was launched last month aimed at finding the best inventions from around the world and exhibiting them during Forum Barcelona 2004. In just a few weeks, more than 200 inventors from some 40 nations have already presented proposals. Those participating have come from every continent, with countries as diverse as Kazakhstan, Australia, Argentina, Italy, Burkina Faso, Morocco, and Saudi Arabia contributing. Among the inventions that have caught the judges’ imagination are a kinetic torch, a machine that creates silence, pocket-sized solar panels for recharging mobile phones, and an airbag for motorcycle crash helmets.

Forum Barcelona 2004 has invited inventors from all over the world to present their proposals. This will be a unique occasion, allowing their inventions to be seen by millions of people. The Forum will include the Cubes of Good Ideas, a showcase for these inventions that aim to improve life, and which reflect the three themes of the Forum: sustainable development, cultural diversity, and the conditions for peace. Some 100 cases measuring four square meters will be installed to allow visitors to familiarize themselves with objects of daily use, and which will contribute to create a more sustainable environment, while improving ordinary people’s lives. The last day for admissions is September 1.
