It was originally called "mistake out" the invention of Bette Nesmith Graham, a Dallas secretary and single mother. Bette Nesmith Graham used her own kitchen blender to mix up her first batch of liquid paper, the substance used to cover up mistakes made on paper. Just one of the many office innovations that an inventor has thought up.

BTW Bette Nesmith Graham's son Michael was one of the Monkees.

Just wanted to say we, my son and I, are working on a report for school and he wanted to do liquid paper. This all started when I got him hooked on the Monkee’s. I have been and still am a BIG fan of the Monkee’s and still have the albums and now CD’s and DVD’s of the show. While watching one of the DVD’s I pointed out that Mike’s Mom invented liquid paper. My son thinks Mike is really funny and a pretty good straight man in the shows.
Hope all is well with him and his family.
