Sometimes in writing about inventions, the who was really first controversy rises to the surface. And everybody has their own opinion. Okay. Okay. I know. I had a lot of people write to me about my article on the invention of baseball, because I gave Alexander Cartwright major creds. Now, I don't give Cartwright honors as being the total originator (we all know the game has been around a long time), just credit for designing the modern baseball diamond and baseball rules. However, I am open to argument to the otherwise if anybody has something to say. Please pitch in with a comment. Photo Credit: Hal Bergman/Getty Images
