That's the personality type called the "rational inventor" according to the Keirsey Temperament Sorter. The Sorter is a personality questionnaire or temperament analysis designed by Doctor David M. Keirsey that assigns you a personality type.
According to Keirsey Temperament Theory, there are four basic temperament groups which describe human behavior. Keirsey's four temperaments are referred to as Artisans, Guardians, Rationals and Idealists. These four temperaments can be further subdivided, often referred to as "Character Types". Rationals are subdivided into Fieldmarshal, Mastermind, Inventor, and Architect.
Of course if you ever take the questionnaire and it turns out you're not an Inventor by Keirsey's determination. Please don't let that stop you from inventing.
