Why are young Americans failing to realize the potential of careers as inventors? Take it from me being an inventor is the rock star choice of any career in science or technology. So why are smart, young adults who consider themselves creative and love math and science, not loving innovation. Come on children, invent something and make this world a better place. Dear Sir/Madame;
I believe I know one of the reasons inventive people are not eager to invent: is simply because you need lots of money to Patent or apply . I have two inventions at this moment for which I will not apply for Patent because of the cost.
Another reason is that, in many fields, the practices used by the Companies in dealing with Inventors and Inventions from outside the Company are very discouraging. So, why to bother to invest your mind and money in something that, most likely, will never be used.

I hate to say it but most inventors I know have shut the doors. After more than 30 years in business and more than 30 million products sold I have taken a job. I lost my line of credit, most of my retail customers, and any desire to work with the monopolistic mass market. It’s sad because inventing is the one thing Americans do best but there is no support unless you’re an iPhone app. The corporations have pretty much won and we all lose the innovation that made this country. Hate to sound cynical but that’s MHO.
I think inventional arena is growing every day whether it is in the United States or elsewhere. Just look at the statistics (http://patentsbase.com/) and how much money is made of patents!
