In 2006, German inventor Jan Vinzenz Krause of the Institute for Condom Consultancy created the spray-on condom aka the Sprühkondom . The concept was that men could buy a kit that they could use to make custom-fit condoms. The benefits were that buying the wrong size was no longer possible and figuring out which side was what was no longer necessary. All a man had to do was insert his penis into a special chamber, where his penis was sprayed with a fast-drying latex liquid, that dried into a protective coating in about a minute or two.
Turns out, that during market testing it was shown that most men were uncomfortable with using the chamber, disliked the hissing noises that the spray nozzle made, and surprise, surprise didn't like waiting the time it took the spray-on condom to dry.
As for that picture up above... sorry I couldn't find a decent photo of the spray-on condom, however, I thought you might like looking at these equally short-lived condoms. The photo depicts comedy designer condoms made out to be football players in display in a shop window when Amsterdam prepared for the FIFA2010 World Cup Final between Netherlands and Spain. Just like a man … doesn’t want to WAIT … lol!
Seriously, didn’t sound like that bad an idea really. Ill fitting condoms can cause a bunch of problems such as STDs and PREGNANCY … so much for that invention!
