Australian biochemist and inventor, Greg Jardine and his company Dr Red Nutraceuticals have patented a group of compounds, antioxidants created during the wine-making process, that can benefit those of us suffering from conditions such as: arthritis, chronic fatigue, and cancer.
Jardine, the founder of Dr Red Nutraceuticals, is serving the elixir in wines, concentrates, and teas with names like Blueberry Punch and Dr Purple Wine. The company has trademarked Modified Polyphenol Technology and MPT to represent the new technology. Normally the higher amounts of antioxidants would give wine an "off" taste. MPT shifts the tannic/water soluble wine polyphenol antioxidants to non-tannic/fat-soluble antioxidants that taste good.
In laymen's terms, wine drunk in moderation has always provided health benefits, Jardine has patented a method of greatly increasing those benefits without damaging the taste of wine. Photo: Morguefiles
