Type the inventor's name in correctly and select the years

Above is an example of what the Advanced Search Page will look like when you do a patent search using the inventor's name of George Lucas. You will be practicing for real in a minute, first please finish reading this step-by-step.

After you have typed in the inventor's name, change "Select Year" to 1976 to present (full text). It is the first choice in the drop down menu covering the years of patent that have not expired. Of course, next year it will say 1977 to present, and the year after it will say 1978 to present.
