Now go to the Advanced Search Page and practice searching for patents by using the inventor's name of George Lucas.

Find a few more inventor's names to practice with. An inventor's name may be found on the invention, the box it came in, or the instruction manual. You might have read about an inventor or seen them on TV. I can suggest the following names: Melody Swetland, Mark Dean

What If I Couldn't Find My Inventor

  • Did you type in the name exactly like the example?
  • Did you spell the inventor's name correctly?
  • Did you set the "Select Years" to the first choice of 1976 to present?
  • Sometimes inventor names are misspelled on the patent, so if even if you spelled the name correctly, the search engine can't find it!
