Question: How do I do a federal trademark search?

Answer: You may conduct a trademark search free of charge on the USPTO website using the Trademark Electronic Search System - TESS Look for "SEARCH trademarks" to begin a search

If your mark includes a design element, you will have to trademark search by using a design code. To locate the proper design code(s) consult the Design Search Code Manual.

You can also conduct a trademark search at the closest PTDL Patent and Trademark Depository Library - List of Libraries PTDL.

Check A Trademark Status
