The saxophone was invented by a Belgian manufacturer, Adolphe Sax.

The saxophone was invented by a Belgian manufacturer, Adolphe Sax and exhibited to the world for the first time at the 1841 Brussels exhibition. The saxophone is a relatively young instrument. (Photo of original Adolphe Sax Saxophone) Antoine-Joseph Sax, who later took the name Adolphe, was born in Dinant, Belgium. His father, Charles Sax, was a musical instrument maker and created wind and brass instruments to pianos and guitars.
