From the article: History of the Atomic Bomb in Photos
Simply put, the Manhattan Project was committed to expediting research that would produce a viable atomic bomb. Since that time the atomic bomb has been used twice in warfare. Many nations have signed treaties against atomic bombs and other nuclear weapons being made or used. What do you think? Good or Bad
Bad heart
- From my point of view, is see this as a really bad thing that the US did by bombing a town and not a army base which resulted in my civilian's death which included a lot of women and children being killed for no good reasons and still today it as some long term effects for the good of man kind it would be better not to use atomic bombs again and the USA should stop that.!!

Good
- It's good that we A-Bombed Japan because Japan would not surrender unless we went into Japan and took it over which would have cost multiple thousands of American soldiers lives lost. Plus we had warned Japan that we would unleash a destruction never before seen by mankind. Also Nuclear Weapons could be usefull in the future for Earth defense.

No
- As a man of science and many different point of views, I think nuclear weapons, and weapons in common, are a symbol of humanwrath, vengeance, and many other things, but also they serve as a great symbol of human "greatness". If humans have the resources, what will they make of them first?

Good
- It can be good in the right hands and when we dropped the bombs the general said if he used man power to take them over it would have killed 1000000 American soldiers and the objective if war is to make sure all you're men come home and we kept a million men at home and used nukes. We used them when Japan was stubborn and wouldn't surrender it didn't have to go that way but they chose it

Use of nuclear weapons in world war 2
- Humanity has witnessed the use of Nuclear weapons throughout ages.if u know nuckear weapons were used in the great mahabharata war by lord krishna who allied with pandavas.Losd krishna writes"even thoug these weapons after acheiving terrfying success have gone to the place where they came from but will come into hands when their time for coming approaches".And yes he was true. When world war started the atomic bombs came into hands and caused aweful destruction. While the ure of nuclear bomb is justified on militant grnunds but will always be condemned on humanity basis.Mo argument over ages will be able to fully justify or prove that uhe use of atomic bombs in war was completely wrong as it put the horrfying war to to an end.The illegitimate war tactits of japan to kill unarmed and unalarmed soldiers at pearl harbour who were not a past of war forced the creation and use of bombs.Imagine hitler with atomic bome and u will thank usa for drooping bombs to put an end to war.

What's more shocking...
- ... Is the poor use of grammar in these comments. If you plan on expressing an opinion on a subject as impacting as the use of nuclear weaponry, you most likely should have an educational level of that of a second grader. Shame on many of you for not staying in school. As for the deployment of both bombs during WWII, I wish that the administration could have found another way to show the Japanese the destructive power of the atom bomb through a demonstration of some kind. Give them a chance to surrender without such awesome destruction and loss of life. When you look at images of the aftermath, it chills you to the core and your soul is sick from having seen it. Enemy or not, those that are incapable of feeling the slightest amount of empathy are homicidal and disturbed. That said, I can't say if it was right or wrong. I can say that it feels wrong. It feels like the death of humanity. I can only consider myself blessed that I didn't have to make that decision. Stay in school.

Bad for Now but could be peaceful !
- Well there cool n epic ,should be used Against large armies ,military bases .but not cities because it is just messed up!n peaple keep talking about japan ,Well FORGET japan ! It Will be more sad if there was WWIII n used nukes so we would be in big trouble!!! There currently r 22000 atom warheads ,if detonated at the same time would be as powerful 7000megaton nuke ,would kill peaple at BILLIONS or if not ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It be Hiroshima n Nagasaki all over the world!!!!!!!!!!! But nukes still should not be destroyed, instead for peaceful purposes, like mining, space travel, or even as an Anti asteroid deflection system!but nooooo! It had to be used as a weapon!

- Life would be better without because that is not what god wanted. Japan lost innocent lives and im doing a report on the atom bomb now. Its by products are leukemia, radioactive rain, and electromagnetic pulse.
- —Guest brian
Mixed feelings
- Yes, the atomic bomb did end the war against Japan, but it also killed lots of innocent people. Though if America hadn't bombed Japan we could possibly be under the power of a communist government.
- —Guest Jelly bean
bad
- because we killed innocent people and that is not a good thing to do
