Simply put, the Manhattan Project was committed to expediting research that would produce a viable atomic bomb. Since that time the atomic bomb has been used twice in warfare. Many nations have signed treaties against atomic bombs and other nuclear weapons being made or used. What do you think? Good or Bad

If you plan on expressing an opinion on a subject as impacting as the use of nuclear weaponry, you most likely should have an educational level of that of a second grader. Shame on many of you for not staying in school. As for the deployment of both bombs during WWII, I wish that the administration could have found another way to show the Japanese the destructive power of the atom bomb through a demonstration of some kind. Give them a chance to surrender without such awesome destruction and loss of life. When you look at images of the aftermath, it chills you to the core and your soul is sick from having seen it. Enemy or not, those that are incapable of feeling the slightest amount of empathy are homicidal and disturbed. That said, I can't say if it was right or wrong. I can say that it feels wrong. It feels like the death of humanity. I can only consider myself blessed that I didn't have to make that decision. Stay in school.

- Well there cool n epic ,should be used Against large armies ,military bases .but not cities because it is just messed up!n peaple keep talking about japan ,Well FORGET japan ! It Will be more sad if there was WWIII n used nukes so we would be in big trouble!!! There currently r 22000 atom warheads ,if detonated at the same time would be as powerful 7000megaton nuke ,would kill peaple at BILLIONS or if not ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - Yes, the atomic bomb did end the war against Japan, but it also killed lots of innocent people. Though if America hadn't bombed Japan we could possibly be under the power of a communist government.

- i understand that the creation of the atomic bomb ended the long war with Japan, but we harmed their innocent citizens, all the children who did not have a true understanding of what side to fight on, or adults who did not know either. the attack killed hundreds of thousands lives and would harm future generations from radiations that are proved to have caused Leukemia and other defects.Yes the war with Japan needed an end, but perhaps not in a way that affected the future and innocent Japanese so much.

- A small note, by the time the US dropped the atomic bombs in Japan VE day had happened. The war in Europe was already over. Just a note to all the people who said that we may have been conquered by the Germans and/or the Italians.

Nuclear Weapons
- Nuclear weapons should never have been invented. Yes, they ended the war against Japan a couple months short which people say saved more lives. However, all the blood that was shed in Hiroshima and Nagasaki are on America's hands. Think of all the people, especially the children who were burned to death that tragic day of August 6, 1945. I hope I have stated my point.
