Several indigenous cultures developed hunting and weapon tools which look like boomerangs. Called hunting sticks or kylies, they were heavier and bigger than boomerangs and not as flexible. They have been found in ancient Egypt, Eastern Europe and Australia. However, the curved throwing sticks were mainly used by the aborigines of Australia for hunting and warfare.
